Walco Corporation is a manufacturer and distributor of adhesive backed products for the automotive and
industrial industries.
Walco was founded by Ron and Betty Ruddock in 1975 in their home in Shaler Township, Pennsylvania. Ron
sold, picked up, converted and delivered the tape while Betty did all the billing, bookwork, and telephone
answering. Their children, Wayne and Pam, as well as other family members, helped with packing the tape.
When the business grew too big to be handled from the home, a small warehouse space was rented. Shortly
thereafter, a larger facility was rented and then, in August of 1978, a building was purchased. It was
renovated into offices and warehouse space. This remained Walco's home for the next 9 years. As it grew,
more employees and salespeople were added. Slitting and converting was done on site and this proved to be
an area of great demand, facilitating Walco's growth.
In 1987, the current structure was built and the company moved to its present location on East Sutter Road
in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania. This building houses offices, warehouse, and shop space. Additional equipment
was purchased to enable in-house precise slitting, perforating, rotary die cutting, laminating, sheeting,
steel rule die cutting of adhesive backed products, and coating of extruded products.
In the late 1980's, Walco became a supplier to the automotive industry. The automotive line of products
for the elimination of squeaks and rattles and protective applications became a large portion of Walco's
business. Walco Corporation became QS-9000 certified in 1997.
We are currently ISO-14001 and ISO/TS 16949:2002 certified.
Walco Corporation is now a Tier One Supplier to General Motors, Ford Motors, and Chrysler.
